秘鲁偏远山村，革命的烈火也蔓延于此。少年胡安（Antonio Callirgos 饰）似乎全然不被这革命的热潮所感染，他每天与好友快乐玩耍，母亲也对其分外疼爱。但大时代的潮流却终究无法逃避，好友的父亲被游击队以叛徒罪名处死，政府军队也不断进入村庄排查叛乱分子。在迎接母亲的途中，胡安被游击队员虏走，在死亡的威胁下，他被迫成为游击队的一员。更名为西里洛的胡安每天要与年龄相仿的小伙伴们接受战斗特训，短暂的快乐根本无法排遣他心中的恐慌与忧伤，他想尽一切办法回到母亲的身旁……...
