在古代，一个老国王去世后，权力传到了儿子手上。但新王热衷于打猎，还听信司法官的谗言，不断对人民增加苛捐杂税，弄得民不聊生。本来，老国王去世前曾经留给新国王一个戒指，每当新国王作出错误决策，戴戒指的手就会疼痛不已。可是，新国王觉得戒指碍手碍脚，妨碍自己为所欲为，就在司法官的鼓动下把戒指丢掉了。结果，从此内政更加每况愈下，民怨沸腾。新国王于是遭到天谴，相貌变成了狼的样子，只好弃国投入山林。最后，他认识到了自己的错误，通过实际行动，得到了天使的原谅，不但变回人样，还重新获得了戒指，回到王国，处理了奸臣...
