塞玛与丈夫和两个儿子同住在马尼拉的贫民区里，他们的日子不算好过。但好心的她却肩负起暂时照顾遗弃孤儿的重责大任，直到有人来领养他们为止。电影从白天开始拍起，镜头在-狭小、混乱又拥挤的巷弄中穿梭，呈现塞玛的一天。看似平凡无波的寻常生活，却渐渐抽丝剥茧地透露出塞玛心中的不安与焦虑，因为今天是她照顾许久的三岁男孩强强，要送去给美-国人领养的大日子，也是她和他相处的最后一天。不是真正的血脉关系，却象是不忍割舍的骨肉分离。曼多萨再度以几近纪录片镜头跟拍的写实美学，透过女主角从平淡压抑、刻意隐忍，渐渐转至最后...
